Design and validate electrical systems for robotic hardware.

The work

  • Design power, control, sensing, and interconnect electronics.
  • Develop mixed-signal and high-current PCBs from schematic through bring-up.
  • Integrate electronics with actuators, sensors, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Test hardware, investigate failures, and prepare designs for manufacture.

Required experience

  • Five or more years developing electronics for robotics or comparable electromechanical systems.
  • Strong schematic and PCB-layout experience.
  • Working knowledge of power integrity, signal integrity, and embedded communications.
  • Evidence of taking hardware from design through validation.

Member of Technical Staff, Robotics Controls Engineer

New York City / Onsite / Full-time

Develop real-time control and motion software for physical robots.

The work

  • Design and tune motion controllers on hardware.
  • Build real-time interfaces between planning, estimation, and actuation.
  • Develop motion-planning and trajectory-generation methods.
  • Calibrate systems and investigate differences between simulation and hardware.

Required experience

  • Four or more years developing controls for physical robots.
  • Strong foundations in control, kinematics, dynamics, and real-time systems.
  • Experience with manipulation or motion planning.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.

Member of Technical Staff, Senior Mechanical Engineer

Design compact, robust mechanisms for robotic manipulation.

The work

  • Develop mechanisms from concept through validated prototypes.
  • Design joints, transmissions, structures, and end effectors.
  • Integrate motors, bearings, sensors, and structure into compact assemblies.
  • Prototype, test, investigate failures, and prepare designs for manufacture.

Required experience

  • Five or more years developing electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience with manipulators, actuated joints, or comparable mechanisms.
  • Strong machine-design, GD&T, and tolerance-analysis experience.
  • Expert command of a major CAD and product-data workflow.

Member of Technical Staff, Simulation & Robot Learning Engineer

New York City / Onsite / Full-time

Build simulation and learning systems for robot manipulation.

The work

  • Build simulated tasks, assets, and evaluation environments.
  • Train and evaluate policies for manipulation.
  • Develop methods for transfer between simulation and hardware.
  • Build tools for data generation, training, and evaluation.

Required experience

  • Four or more years working in robot simulation or robot learning.
  • Experience deploying learned behavior on physical robots.
  • Strong simulation, system-identification, and sim-to-real fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Python and a modern machine-learning framework.
